Four thematic group meetings held aimed at determining priorities of the Coalition for Children and Youth for 2017, which were held in February 2017. In accordance with the decision made at the General Assembly, secret ballot election of the Thematic Group Coordinators was held and organizations, which would head the thematic groups were determined.
Thematic Group I – Abandonment Prevention and Development of Family Support Services
I-a- Abandonment prevention and development of family support services for children with disabilities. The group is headed by the Save the Children whose representative is Anna Laghidze.
I-b Abandonment prevention and development of family support services for children with typical development. The group is headed by the Partnership for Social Welfare (PSW) whose representative is Gia Kakachia.
Thematic Group II – Juvenile Justice is headed by the Rehabilitation Initiative for Vulnerable Groups whose representative is Anton Kelbakiani.
Thematic Group III- Protection of Children and Youth from Violence and Neglect is headed by the Public Health Foundation of Georgia whose representative is Ketevan Margalitaze.
Thematic Group IV- Problems of the Youth Who Left Care is headed by the SOS Children’s whose representative is Nino Tchitanava.
Basic advocacy issues, which will become a part of the Action Plan for 2017 were presented by the organizations that head thematic groups at the Coalition Council Meeting held on March 2 2017.
